Worker’s Compensation: Medical Aid

Medical aid (and medical treatment) is probably the most controversial and hard-fought workers’ compensation issue. Under Missouri law, the employer controls who an injured worker sees for medical help. Most employers use some type of industrial medicine office that undertreats clients and fails to diagnose serious orthopedic and other traumatic injuries.

There is also a great controversy over the compensability of occupational diseases such as carpal tunnel syndrome, degenerative arthritis, and other wear-and-tear injuries. It is extremely difficult to get proper medical care under the workers’ compensation system without an attorney to fight for your benefits.
